NONFERROUS METAL INDUSTRY
In non-ferrous metal industry, lime plays multiple critical roles.
In ore flotation (copper, nickel, zinc, lead, etc.), quicklime or hydrated lime is used to maintain alkaline conditions (typically pH 10–12), improving flotation selectivity and metal recovery.
In hydrometallurgy, lime is widely applied for acid neutralization and heavy metal precipitation. For example, during gold and silver cyanide leaching, lime stabilizes high-pH conditions, reducing cyanide consumption and preventing the formation of toxic hydrogen cyanide (HCN).
In pyrometallurgical processes, lime slurry is used in flue gas scrubbing systems to remove SO2 and other acidic gases, helping protect equipment.
Minben supplies high-purity powdered quicklime and high–specific surface area hydrated lime to meet these demanding process requirements, enabling stable pH control and efficient impurity removal.
